The superimposed images, beginning clockwise from top left: a woman holds a cup up to the face of a man in a hat and work clothes, who is slumped over; a group of men and women, with the women and a man in the front row kneeling, as though in supplication; a man holds his hat in his hands as he looks at the body of a dead child, laid out for burial a man holds the limp body of a child, while a man and a young girl turn away; two men talk to each other over a rough wooden table.
